Diocesan schools raise over $45,000 for Project Compassion
This year, schools across the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle raised $45,153.98 for the annual Caritas Lenten appeal, Project Compassion. This is a 30% increase on 2015.

Hunter Homeless Connect is an annual event that links people experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness with accommodation services, mental health services, financial and legal assistance, education, employment and support services. Government and non-Government service providers join volunteers with in-kind financial support to provide a safe environment for locals needing support.
More than $11 million raised nationally for Project Compassion 2016
Thousands of generous supporters, including schools and parishes across Australia, joined in solidarity with the poorest communities globally in 2016, to help Caritas Australia raise more than $11 million nationally during Project Compassion.
