Morgan Owens describes her time in the Christian Formation Course as transformative.
After her baptism, she took on the program to deepen her faith and further explore the Catholic tradition.
“I felt like it was also a really good way for me to dedicate one night a week to myself and my faith, you know, stepping out of the role of mother and student,” she said.
“I just really wanted to dedicate that time to God and exploring the depths of the Catholic Church because it's got so much to offer, and there is so much to learn.”
The course is a one-year face-to-face learning experience that allows participants to explore their life’s journey and faith within the Catholic Tradition. It introduces participants to scripture, theology, church history, sacramental life, and liturgy.
Aside from the learning, Morgan’s favourite part of the course was connecting with people who were also on a faith journey.
“I really enjoyed the interaction that we had with the other students,” she explained.
“The class ended up being like a community, and we got to know one another very well and learned about each other's lives and what God meant to us.”
Morgan encourages anyone interested to get involved and take on the course.
“You’ve got nothing to lose, it’ll open up so many doors,” she said.
She adds that the workload is very manageable and should not hinder other activities.
