Join us for the Ecumenical Way of the Cross

We have invited fourteen different communities to share the gift of their culture through song, movement, and story.

"At a time when the world is becoming more polarised than ever, we are invited to come and express our unity as one universal church."

That's a statement from Brendon Mannyx, Manager – Community and Mission, ahead of this year's Ecumenical Way of the Cross.

Taking place on Sunday 17 March from 3pm on the grounds of our St Joseph's Parish in Toronto, the event is inviting us into a multicultural journey of remembrance.

We have invited fourteen different communities to share the gift of their culture through song, movement, and story. Each station of the cross will be expressed through a different cultural heritage from all parts of the globe.

Recognising that we are ‘one body in Christ,’ it is hoped that this experience will draw us into the beauty of the rich diversity of faith expressions that are celebrated across our Diocese and broader Christian community. This tradition has been celebrated in our diocese for 56 years.

"If you have never experienced the Ecumenical Way of the Cross, we strongly encourage you to come and share the afternoon with us," Brendon said.

"Make sure to wear good walking shoes as our journey will take us through the beautiful bushland setting of Toronto parish. Wear long pants, be sun safe, and remember the insect repellent. It is a fully immersive faith experience and we will finish with a multicultural afternoon tea."

When: Sunday 17 March, 3pm (you are invited to gather from 2pm)
