Refugee Hub clients become Australian citizens

CatholicCare staff were honoured to celebrate with so many of our Refugee Hub clients who became Australian Citizens in Newcastle late last month.

You couldn’t wipe the smile off Migration Service client Annick Kamariza’s face.

“I’m speechless, I’m so happy,” she said.

“It feels amazing and exciting, I miss my country but now I can get a passport and I can go back home to see my mum and dad.”

Another client, Azad Ramo was honoured to become an Australian.

“I'm very happy that I have become an Australian citizen, because Australia is a country of peace and multiculturalism,” Mr Ramo said.

“Australia is very safe for people, it's a very good country and safer than Syria and Iraq, we're very happy here.”
