TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Alleluia
Last week I began my message with Hosanna, and this week, the word is Alleluia, a word I have sung many, many times during the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Hosanna
Holy Week has begun with the word Hosanna (Save Us). We have entered our holy and busy time liturgically, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Communities of faith, hope and love
Once again, my Sunday night has come around quickly with nightfall coming earlier than usual because of the change of daylight-saving time.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: World harmony and peace
On the Sunday of this fourth week of Lent, some of us would have heard the reading from Luke’s Gospel (15:1-3,11-32) about the Prodigal Son, while others may have listened to the reading from John’s Gospel for Year A, about the man born blind and whose sight Jesus restored.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Communal hope
It is hard to imagine that it is already the third week of Lent. For some communities, on this Sunday, the readings may have been about being repentant and the lesson of the fig tree that did not bear fruit for three years, while for others the readings were chosen from Year A, with the reading of the Samaritan woman at the well.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: World Meeting of Families
This week I am bringing to your attention #WMOF22. I believe that this significant event from June 22 to 26, 100 days from now, may not have registered with you because of our lack of connection over the past two years.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Break the bias
I am conscious that this message will be read by most people on Tuesday 8 March, International Women’s Day. The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Season of Lent
I hope many of you experienced an increase in the numbers of people attending Mass over the weekend, and the extra joy of hearing the voices of those assembled responding to the prayers and singing without the restriction of masks. This was my experience at the Cathedral on Sunday evening.
