Students from our schools in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle have achieved some outstanding results in this year’s HSC.
Day of reflection to develop young leaders
Over 1,300 Year 5 students from all corners of the Diocese spent a day preparing for their future roles as senior leaders by attending the Young Leaders one-day seminars held at Lochinvar, Scone, East Maitland, Taree, Gateshead, Kilaben Bay, Raymond Terrace and New Lambton.

St Pius X are the champions at cheerleading
The cheerleading team from St Pius X High School, Adamstown has been named National Grand Champions at the 2018 Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) National Cheer and Dance Championships.
Ben Simmons may play for Boomers at World Cup
Former St Francis Xavier's Primary School, Belmont student and now NBA star, Ben Simmons, is still a chance of lacing up for the Australian Boomers at the basketball World Cup in China next August.
