Reflecting on the significance of the day Director of CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning, Helga Smit, said “It is a day for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.”

CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning staff were encouraged staff to wear the colour orange to work, in support of the day’s theme that ‘everyone belongs.’

“CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning strongly believes in the importance of inclusiveness at work and in the broader community.

“I would like to pay particular thanks to our staff, volunteers and friends at Refugee Service for their proactive approach to taking part in Harmony Day events around our region. The team proudly represented CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning at schools and community events and in doing so, are fulfilling our mission to work with our communities to build a strong, fairer and kinder society,” Ms Smit said.
