On Thursday 30 January, a very happy group of parents and Kindergarten students joined the school community at St Michael’s Primary School, Nelson Bay.

Today we welcomed 27 Kindergarten children to the community of Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Tarro.
Putting the band back together
The Civic Playhouse was at capacity on Tuesday 17 December, and an audience keen to be entertained were not disappointed. ASPIRE’s Senior Theatre Makers presented their original play Split, which they had created with me and ASPIRE’s intern Ned Keogh.
On the road to find out
Driving along Medowie Road recently was a very enjoyable experience. With North Construction having established itself on-site on 25 November to commence earthworks for the Catherine McAuley Catholic College, it was pleasing to witness the level of activity and progress made to date.
Tough times call on community spirit
The community of St Mary’s Primary School, Scone knows all about doing it tough in the drought, but we also know there are other areas of the state doing it tougher than us.
Move to big school need not be daunting
The transition from primary to high school can be a daunting time for students and their families. Especially stepping into a new environment surrounded by new faces and with endless subjects and opportunities from which to choose.
St Pius X Awarded School National Songwriting Winners
A group of musically talented students who attend St Pius X High School in Adamstown recently took out a national songwriting competition for their song Unplug and Connect.
St Mary's colourful school entrance thanks to grant
St Mary’s Primary School, Scone was the lucky recipient last year of a grant from Upper Hunter Community Arts, which was used to employ Janno McLaughlin to come into the school and work with the students.
