St Dominic's Centre Mayfield unveils updated identity: St Dominic’s Catholic College

St Dominic's Centre Mayfield has started the new year with an updated name and visual identity. 

St Dominic’s Catholic College, Mayfield is a Kindergarten to Year 12 school that provides education for children with a range of disabilities. 

In January 2023, St Dominic’s welcomed its first Year 11 students and now offers K-12 education for children with a range of disabilities. 

Prompted by this evolution of the school environment and alongside the school’s philosophy to provide a holistic education that enables each child to lead a fulfilling life in a post-school world, it was recognised that work was needed to update the St Dominic’s name and visual identity.  

The refreshed visual identity and crest for the school now reflect the modern-day St Dominic's. 

About the crest and visual identity

The school crest is contemporary and modern yet retains St Dominic’s more traditional elements in keeping the school’s motto, Veritas - meaning truth, as well as the four Dominican pillars - Prayer, Ministry, Community and Study. 

The ellipses of the intertwined pillared circles depict a modern-coloured cross, with bright colours to reflect youth while the purity of white at the centre represents Jesus. 

The shield represents strength, stability and longevity as a school, a community, and a family.

Name refresh for St Joseph’s Aberdeen

To ensure a consistent approach with other Diocesan secondary schools, St Joseph’s High School Aberdeen is updating its name to St Joseph’s Catholic College Aberdeen.

A new crest that uses the refreshed name will be used and signage, uniforms, the website and more will also gradually be updated.
