Polding Athletics 2022

The Maitland Newcastle Diocese hosted over 800 athletes at the Hunter Sports Centre at Glendale for the NSW Polding Athletics Championships.

With the last two years of Polding missed due to Covid, students turned up ready to perform. Families travelled from as far as Lismore, Armidale, Bathurst, Wilcannia Forbes and Broken Bay. Under very wet conditions, Catholic Schools Office Director, Gerard Mowbray opened Carnival with Madison Trembath and Hamish Kirkman reading the prayer and acknowledgement, and Isabella Rankin sang a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem.

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle performed very well with an exceptional 32 students qualifying the Polding squad to compete at the NSWPSSA Athletics Championships at Homebush on October 19 & 20.
