School closures on Tuesday 23 March due to severe weather

The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle wishes to advise that four Catholic schools in the Manning region will be non-operational tomorrow, Tuesday 23 March 2021.

This includes:

  • St Joseph's Primary School, Bulahdelah
  • St Joseph's Primary School, Gloucester
  • St Joseph's Primary School, Taree
  • St Clare's High School, Taree

These schools have been deemed non-operational on the back of extreme weather conditions in the region and is in accordance with the Diocese's ongoing commitment to ensuring our staff and students' health and safety.

St Joseph's Primary School, Wingham and St Joseph’s Primary School, Dungog will reopen, but for supervision purposes only. Where possible, parents and carers of children attending these schools are urged to keep their children home.

St Michael’s Primary School, Nelson Bay and Holy Name Primary School, Forster will resume normal operations from Tuesday 23 March.

All other schools will resume normal operations once it is deemed safe, and the community will be kept abreast of these updates promptly via the schools' communication channels and local media. If you need to contact your child's school regarding any concerns or requests for assistance, please email them directly.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our local communities who have been deeply affected by the devastation of this intense rainfall.
