The school community commenced the term with a liturgy celebrating all that is good about Mary and the different understandings of Mary’s role within the Church.
“The focus of the whole week was on Fatima and students spent their Religion time focusing on not just the story of Fatima but also how we as Catholics respond to God’s calling us,” said principal, Duilio Rufo.
During the week, students watched informative videos, carried out role plays, viewed artwork of Mary, drew pictures and made lego models of Mary and Year 4 students made rosary bracelets to pray the rosary.
On Friday 13 October, St Therese’s brought the celebrations to life by creating a human rosary. All Year 6 students formed the shape of rosary beads identified through colour sashes and together the 630 students and teachers recited the rosary.
Families and parishioners were invited to attend all activities where they saw all students get involved. It was so special to bring Mary alive and to show our faith in action.
