All Saints’ College Maitland raises more than $7,000 for Caritas Australia

Caritas Australia is beaming with pride after All Saints’ College Maitland presented the charity with a $7,782 cheque last Tuesday.

It comes after the students, staff, and broader school community participated in a number of fundraising efforts to help Caritas support more people.

The money will go directly to supporting the most marginalised communities in Australia and overseas, helping them confront challenges like poverty.

Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle Curia Chaplain and Caritas Australia representative, Helene O’Neill said it was an honour to receive the donation. Alongside Mary-Anne DeLuca from the Diocese and Caritas, she visited the school to say thanks.

“Fathers Piranthi and Camillus from the Chisholm Parish also joined us along with principal Brian Lacey," Helene said.

“We addressed the entire school at the assembly and the students were fully engaged as we expressed our thanks on behalf of the communities for whom the money was raised.

“This was a humbling experience for us to witness faith in action through the generosity of the school community.”
