The Community Van which provides meals and social interaction with the homeless each Saturday afternoon at Islington Park has been off the road for repairs. As an interim measure the refugee services van has been used to transport the food items provide by OzHarvest to these clients.
According to The Australian Oxford Dictionary, restoration can describe “the act or process of bringing something back to its original condition” which implies an age factor, a deterioration from the original condition and perhaps loss of functionality.
“The emotional impact in the room was palpable” was one comment following the latest in the series of ACP business network luncheons conducted by the diocese. The luncheon was held on Thursday 12 May at Surf House, Merewether and considered “Refugees and Asylum Seekers – Accepting a New Reality”.
