LITURGY MATTERS: There’s nothing better than a good liturgical book!

August 20, 2019 Fr Andrew Doohan

I don’t know about you, but I love to read. It is one of the ways I nurture my faith and my spirit. Reading is also important in my ongoing formation for ministry. Today, we start a new ‘series’ in which, from time to time, we will recommend some good books in the fields of liturgy and RCIA. This week, enjoy Fr. Andrew Doohan's review of a wonderful book about RCIA. Hopefully it will encourage you to get a copy and immerse yourself in it. So grab a cup of tea or coffee, pull up a comfy chair and a copy of Paul Turner’s book… and enjoy!

Some weeks ago I wrote about how, as a Church, we might mark the Perpetual Day of Remembrance, which Bishop Bill declared in 2017 as one of the ways we would hold our history of child sexual abuse. This week, I invite you to participate in what the Diocesan Liturgy Council’s Working Party has prepared as our church's response.

How lucky are we?! Anyone involved in RCIA ministry knows about Team RCIA: Nick Wagner and Diana Macalintal. They are in Australia in October and we have been able to book them for a whole day, right here in our diocese. Saturday October 19, venue and times yet to be organised, but presume a full day gathering. Our Date Claimer Flyer is available here.
