As part of the two-day program, participants learned about Aboriginal culture, symbolism, interpretation and the art and history of Wonnarua land. They put this information to good use, developing unique artworks on boomerangs and clapping sticks using Indigenous art techniques.

For years CatholicCare has hosted this highly successful program in conjunction with the Cessnock Regional Art Gallery, which offers its beautiful gallery for families in the Cessnock region to create artwork together and be inspired by their surrounds.
