15 Years Girls

After a tightly contested match ending in a 2-2 draw against Lismore, the U15 girls saw this as an opportunity to reflect and restrategise. The girls defeated three more teams, securing a position in the semi-finals where they would come up against a strong Paramatta side.

Coach Lucy Koch was extremely proud and impressed with the girls’ efforts throughout the event.

Open Boys

The Open Boys began with a loss against Parramatta, but after clicking as a team, they ended their afternoon on a high, defeating Broken Bay and Wagga Wagga. After five matches, the team remained undefeated and finished runners up. Over the course of the two days, the team constantly improved and consistently played with cohesion.

Coach Matt Cook said it was a pleasure to coach such talented boys and wished them all the best for the future.

Congratulations to Logan Aoake from St Francis Xavier’s College, Hamilton and Bayley Tranter from All Saints College, Maitland on their selection in the NSWCCC Opens Boys team.

Open Girls

The Opens girls began with a close match against Sydney.

Coach Hayley Amm said the girls played well, but not being familiar with each other’s playing styles challenged the team.

The girls were not discouraged by their loss against Bathurst as they went on to draw with Parramatta and Broken Bay.

The team showed significant improvement throughout the tournament and should be proud of their efforts.

Congratulations to Sophie Howarth, Ellie Stacey and Steve Botham for making the probable selections and Stevie Botham from St Mary’s Catholic College Gateshead for being selected for the NSWCCC team.
