From Portland to Penola in seven days, the pilgrims joined hundreds of others from around the country to walk together in the footsteps of Mary MacKillop.
It was a voyage of adventure for everyone. Friendships were formed and tears were shared through deep conversation and reflection.
As the pilgrims completed the trail between Cape Bridgewater and Cape Nelson Lighthouse, they were stunned with the breathtaking views of the peaceful oceanside.
Making their way across the creek from Nelson to Port MacDonnell, the pilgrims were greeted with 40km/h winds and a hail storm, powering along the route from Mt Gambier to Kalangadoo.
“A sense of achievement, satisfaction and joy was felt by all who completed the journey and it will remain a wonderful experience they will never forget,” said Principal, Gerry Vandermaat, of Our Lady of Victories Primary School, Shortland.
