Bishop of Maitland-Newcastle, Bill Wright, today blessed and officially welcomed St Nicholas Early Education Singleton to the diocese. Formerly St Patrick’s Singleton, St Nicholas Singleton will continue to provide much-needed early education services and will extend the Diocese's existing activities in the community, with St Nicholas Newcastle West opening mid-May.

Hunter Friends of L’Arche gathered with local parish members and members of Sydney L’Arche at the Diocesan Offices on Saturday 30 April, as the first step towards a partnership with the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning funded a nationally recognised St John’s two-day First Aid course for six young people being supported by CatholicCare’s Out Of Home Care (OOHC) service at the Mayfield head office last week. Participants included young people who are currently in foster care or have recently left foster care and moved into CatholicCare’s Supported Independent Living and After Care programs.
