Learning Lions Kindness Project
Since the beginning of the year staff in the Lions room have encouraged children to demonstrate small acts of kindness towards their friends and carers each day. Our overall aim in promoting kindness is not only for the children to show kindness and compassion within our centre, but to spread kindness into our community.

St Nicholas Early Education centre at Newcastle West received a very special visit on Wednesday. The State Emergency Services (SES) Newcastle branch volunteers came to the centre to show the children their “Medium Storm Rescue” vehicles.
Singleton Waste Management Excursion
On Monday 7 August, the Creative Cubs went on an excursion to the Singleton Waste Management Facility. This was a planned experience to extend on our interest in waste disposal, waste management and the concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
