Primary Rugby Union news 2022

The competition was strong at the Diocesan Rugby Union trials this year, which allowed for a selection of a talented team of 19 students to travel to Forbes to represent the Diocese at the Polding trials.

During the last week of term, the team travelled to Forbes to partake in a skills development program run by Rugby NSW Development Officers followed by a diocesan training run.

On the Monday, the team competed against other teams across the Polding region in the of catching the eye of selectors.

Our Maitland-Newcastle representatives are to be commended for their efforts and should be extremely proud of their sportsmanship and ability.

Congratulations to Thomas Mongan from St. John The Baptist Primary School Maitland, Nate Jury from Rosary Park Primary School Branxton, Sidney Maxwell and Spencer Smith from St. Joseph's Primary School Merewether. These students have been selected for the Polding team and will compete at the NSW PSSA Championships in Mudgee during Term 3.
