Year 6 “mighty mates” played host to their new Kindergarten “mini mates” and it was hard to tell who was more excited.
The new students, parents and grandparents were met at the gate and escorted to morning assembly where they were welcomed by the student body. It was then time for the “mighty mates” to take their “mini mates” to their rooms. Breaking the ice with Play Doh, Lego and games, it wasn’t long before laughter echoed throughout the rooms.
There was a great vibe in the air between the two Kindergarten classes, which will be combined to encourage a more engaging learning environment. This allows fluid groupings across Kindergarten as well as across all infants classes.
The teachers are looking forward to igniting a passion and excitement for learning from the students’ first year of schooling.
The school’s motto for 2020 is “All Means All” and this was very evident on the first day of Kindergarten
