GALLERY: Catholic Schools Week - Day 5

Schools celebrated day five of Catholic Schools Week with open classrooms, liturgies, shared picnic lunches, opening evenings and more.

LEARN

Secondary students from across the Diocese came together at The Factory Theatre at St Pius X High School, Adamstown for the annual Diocesan Theatre Sports competition. The drama students showcased their improvisation skills, impressing students, teachers and judges alike.

The winners were:

1st – St Clare’s High School, Taree

2nd – St Joseph’s College, Lochinvar

3rd – San Clemente High School, Mayfield

Year 9

1st – St Joseph’s, Lochinvar Team 1 and St Clare’s, Taree

3rd – San Clemente

Year 10

1st – San Clemente Team 1

2nd – San Clemente Team 2

3rd – St Pius X Tam 1 and 2

Year 11

1st – St Catherine’s Catholic College, Singleton

2nd – St Clare’s Team 1

3rd – St Joseph’s, Lohinvar

There was also plenty of opportunities to learn more about the Diocese’s secondary schools, with All Saints’ College, Maitland and St Mary’s Catholic College, Gateshead hosting Open Day/Nights for interested prospective families.

At St Dominic’s Centre, Mayfield infant students took part in a ninja challenge involving a circuit of games and challenges in the Movement Room.

SERVE

Over at St John Vianney Primary School, Morisset, a morning liturgy was followed by open classrooms with families and a picnic morning tea.

BELONG

At St John’s Primary School, Lambton students invited their families for a shared picnic lunch, while at St Joseph’s Primary School, Bulahdelah students tied up their laces for a cross country race as well as enjoying a liturgy, open classrooms and a morning tea with their families.
