Students came to school dressed in their favourite pyjamas and tucked into some warm soup to raise money for the St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal.

The school’s Mini Vinnies team not only came up with the idea, they also helped to organise and run the day.

As the team served up soup and sold delicious cookies, students were reminded of those less fortunate who go without warm clothing and food during the colder months and of the value of helping those in need.

Sam Hill, Michelle Kott and Paul Bridge from St Vincent De Paul also visited the school to collect the donated food items.

“It was wonderful to see so many children thinking about the needs of others in our community,” said Religious Education Coordinator at Rosary Park, Amie Ward.

“Our Mini Vinnies team worked tirelessly to promote and organise the day and collect items and money to help those who are going without this winter.

“I am extremely proud to be a part of such a thoughtful and giving community.”

The school managed to raise over $600 on the day which will be donated to St Vincent De Paul to help make the winter months a more comfortable time for those less fortunate.
