"Art is an important way for our students and young people to express thoughts and emotions,” opened Principal Scott Donohoe.

The exhibition was opened by former Artist in Residence, Madeleine Cruise who gifted one of her pieces to the school to share part of her residency with future students.

The presentation was followed by acoustic performances on the balcony by various music ensembles and the positive vibrations could be felt by a very proud audience of family and friends.

“Something quite powerful happens when we use our creative strength to connect and communicate with others,” said Creative and Performing Arts Coordinator, Jessica Lopez.

“Students have bravely put themselves on the line, showing courage in the creative process.”

Miss Lopez and her amazing team are incredibly humble considering the hours of work that are evident in this impressive exhibition.

The exhibition included student classwork of sculpture, painting, photography, drawing and ceramics as well as the work of the elective textiles class.

The event was catered by food technology students with a delicious array of canapes, which were a huge hit with the audience.

Mr Donohoe presented the prizes for the evening including a ‘Curator’s Choice’ for each year as well as an overall ‘People’s Choice’ award, to be announced at the close of the exhibition on Friday.
