A Remembrance tradition blossoms at St Brigid’s

Students from St Brigid’s Primary School, Raymond Terrace, their parents, grandparents, families and friends from near and far came together to create an unforgettable Remembrance Day.

Friends from all over the country have spent months knitting small poppies and together managed to knit over 900!

Last Friday the children proudly wore their hand knitted poppies for the first time.

“The call went out to the St Brigid’s community to knit poppies for the children to wear on ANZAC and Remembrance Days, the response has been fantastic” said Religious Education Coordinator, Leanne Hogan.

“We are going to be delivering some of these poppies to the local nursing homes.

“It is definitely the beginning of what will hopefully be a strong tradition here at St Brigid’s”.

We look forward to seeing St Brigid’s break the thousand in 2017!
