Adrianna Rossi of St Pius X High School, Adamstown, wins design award.

Year 10 Visual Arts students entered their skate deck designs into the School Student Art Prize (SSAP) run by Newcastle Art Space.

The exhibition, which was open to all Newcastle Visual Art Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 opened at Newcastle Art Space on Saturday, 20 August.

The winners were announced on the opening night of the exhibition and the Year 10 category was won by St Pius student, Adrianna, with her work titled ‘Starry Night’.

The category was the largest of the exhibition and was judged by the Cultural Director of Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Brigette Uren. Adrianna was given a $150 voucher to Eckersley’s Art and Craft.

“The works were all of a high standard and I was extremely impressed with the talents of so many young artists.” said Brigette Uren.

 All students who entered their designs received a participation award.
