Pints with a Purpose has had a great year of speakers at the Northern Star Hotel in Beaumont Street. Pints is a monthly gathering of young people exploring what is means to be a Catholic in our society today. We welcome speakers from many places, including our own local voices.
The Assembly of Catholic Professionals welcomed the Public Speaking Champions of St Mary’s High School, Gateshead, St Clare’s High School, Taree and St Pius X High School, Adamstown to share their views on ‘Accepting a New Reality: The Youth Perspective’ at the final luncheon for 2016.
It is 150 years since the arrival of the first resident bishop of Maitland, Bishop James Murray. To celebrate this occasion, please join a pilgrimage walk tracing the route of Murray's carriage journey upon arrival in 1866 to take up his Bishopric of Maitland, and claim St John the Baptist church as his cathedral.
